They chain a wolf and beat and do other incredibly sadistic things to them. It is like a dog fight here in the US.
As many of you know Turkish Airlines announced that it is likely to begin direct flights to Boston in 2012 or 2013. It is February 2013 and yet there is no scheduled day for the flights to begin. If you, your friends or family would like to fly directly to Istanbul, Turkey, please sign this petition to remind THY of its announcement and also to show that there is significant demand for such a route. Thank you!
Help Turkish animal protectionists stop the government death plan to remove, poison or starve community street dogs
For several years, animal protectionists in Turkey have made progress for street animals by successfully introducing humane alteration and rabies vaccination for street animals. Most communities have embraced the compassionate treatment of street animals, as a result of humane education and increasing awareness of the benefits of alteration and vaccination, instead of poisoning and other brutal methods of killing. But, the Turkish government has been slow to understand that spay/neuter and vaccination is the most effective and kindest way to control overpopulation. It has not provided adequate veterinary training or implemented basic anti-cruelty laws. Now, instead of continuing to progress, the government wants to return to the old brutal methods of capturing stray dogs, poisoning them, or starving them to death by shipping them to remote places where dogs cannot survive.
The local government “shelters” in Turkey are death camps where dogs are allowed to starve or suffer mistreatment by untrained staff. Evidence of the horrific conditions at municipal shelters has been well-documented by investigations. Most Turkish municipalities have no budget for veterinary services, have no trained staff, and have no plans for the actual care of animals. In reality, the government plan to deport street dogs to a “natural life park,” is a cruel hoax; in reality, there are no “natural life parks.” The real plan is that the government will dump the dogs in remote places where they will die. The real plan, as it has been done in the past, is that the street dogs who are comfortable with people – the most gentle, well-socialized, and trusting animals – will be taken by public workers and poisoned or dumped, or both. The friendliest dogs, who have experienced the kindness of local residents who feed them, and care for them as part of the community, will be the easiest targets of this cruel deception.
The kind people of Turkey who understand what this means – an unnecessary and cruel death sentence for hundreds of thousands of street dogs – will organize and march in protest.
Please help stand up for the protection of stray animals by petitioning against this misguided decision by the government. Stop the death sentence against community dogs in Turkey.
ON NOVEMBER 28, 2012 17 REPORTED DOGS WERE MASSACRED IN A MEDITERRANEAN RESORT TOWN OF KAS IN TURKEY. THIS IS ONLY ONE OF THE HUNDREDS OF TOWNS WHERE DOGS, CATS AND STREET ANIMALS ARE MASSACRED IN TURKEY. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION BELOW TO URGE THE TURKISH PARLIAMENT AND ALSO THE MUNICIPALITY OF KAS TO STOP ANIMAL KILLINGS. THE GOVERNMENT OF TURKEY ALONG WITH THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITIES MUST ALL BE AWARE THAT THE REASON THAT TOURISTS VISIT IS BECAUSE THEY LOVE TO SEE THE ANIMALS, AND IF TURKEY CONTINUES THEN NO MORE TOURISTS WILL VISIT AND THIS WILL HAVE AN ADVERSE AFFECT ON TURKEYS ECONOMY AND INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS. PLEASE PASS ON TO ALL YOUR CONCERNED FRIENDS ALL OVER THE WORLD IN ANY SOCIAL MEDIA! TOGETHER WE CAN REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE. THANK YOU FOR CARING!

Mercy for Animals just released a video showing horrible animal cruelty that has been taking place at five Butterball turkey farms in North Carolina. Butterball is the biggest turkey producer in the country.
The video shows turkeys being kicked and stomped on, slammed into cages, dragged by their wings and necks, and left to suffer. Turkeys are usually able to fly, quick, and well-coordinated, but Butterball has bred their turkeys to grow so much at such an accelerated pace that not only can they not fly, but they also suffer from foot and leg deformities, heart attacks, bone defects, hip joint lesions, and many other health problems.
This is unacceptable. Please tell Butterball Farms to address these animal cruelty issues and to adopt an animal cruelty policy immediately!
Gulet cruises Turkey are so popular as they are bringing you to the best hot spots along the turkish Southwest coast. You can choose from different embarking points, which are located along the coast or at several Greek Islands. A gulet cruise Marmaris can bring you closer to the places and people that make Turkey as a holiday destination so fascinating. There are many itineraries available and no two itineraries are ever the same, especially onboard a private luxury gulet you have chosen before. All itineraries are as spectacularly diverse as the country itself.
Private gulet cruises are a unique journey at sea aboard a classic Turkish yacht called a gulet. There are many different types of luxury yacht cruise holidays in Turkey; however cruising the blue along the Mediterranean coast and further to the Aegean in the Greek Islands aboard a traditional gullet offers an experience full of Turkish charm, savory Turkish cuisine, breathtaking scenery, boasting with ancient ruins, bustling harbors and secluded coves along the shores of charming villages.
Bicyclists - Give people a safe way to bicycle to work at Turkey Point.
Drivers - Get bicyclists out of the already congested traffic lanes to increase flow.
Government - Create incentive for people to be more active and bicycle to work safely.
Bicyclists have all the rights to the road that motorized vehicles do, but you can't count on drivers to slow down and drive carefully. There needs to be a bike path on Palm Drive to allow those who would bike to work at Turkey Point a safe way to do so.
Turkey Hill has discontinued this particular flavor and it is the most amazing ice cream ever! They should bring it back even if only for a little amount of time so people can stock up.
On October 12 and 13, the city of Yellville is holding its annual Turkey Trot Festival, during which an illegal event known as the "Turkey Drop" historically takes place. This event involves the hurling of wild turkeys—who typically fly only short distances, rarely reaching 100 feet high—from private planes traveling around 70 miles per hour and at altitudes of around 1,000 feet! Disoriented and unable to right themselves, most birds plummet like bricks, fatally crashing onto buildings, cars, and the street. Those with wind under their wings careen at extreme speeds into the landscape. Video footage of the 2010 Turkey Drop can be viewed here.
More then 150.000 stray animals, dogs and cats are living in and around the streets of Istanbul. In the extreme heat, they can't find food. They are starving in front of your eyes.
Don't close your eyes but help!
The shelters are overcrowded, dogs eat eachother in order to survive. Kittens are born in the streets.
The only way to help is to get them neutered! Please sign and convince the governor of Istanbul, Turkey to neuter those stray animals! They already vaccinate them to protect them from rabies, now they need to be neutered! Thank you on behalf of those stray cats and dogs!
