Show your support in building a Universally Accessible Playground in Tuolumne County by signing our petition.

Big Dreams, Universally Accessible Parks and Playgrounds, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization has been created to build parks and playground for children and adults with special needs.  This organization was founded after research discovered that our local parks and playgrounds did not meet the unique needs of children and adults with disabilities. 

For children and parents with disabilities in Tuolumne County, spending a day at the park is virtually impossible due to the surface materials and structure of every playground in the county.  The closest Accessible and Inclusive Playground is in Folsom, California, 79 miles and a two hour drive from Sonora.

Universally accessible parks and playgrounds break down the barriers that restrict children and adults with all types of disabilities by creating a space that is both physically accessible and structurally inclusive.  The barriers that typically restrict disabled people from enjoying our local playgrounds include the surface materials, which are bark or sand.  This material is virtually impossible for a wheel chair or walker to navigate.  The alternative is a solid surface covering the entire playground area.  The smooth surface makes rolling over the playground to different areas much easier and enjoyable.  The second challenge children with special needs face at our local parks is the “inclusivity”.  Inclusive playgrounds have elements that address the needs of children with a variety of disabilities including, but not limited to, visual impairments, autism, hearing impairments, and developmental delays.  Universally Accessible playgrounds address these needs by offering a variety of exciting and enriching sensory experiences such as tactile elements (interesting textures for those with vision impairments), musical equipment, and quiet areas for children who become overwhelmed easily by the usual excitement and noise of a playground.

Not only does a Universally Accessible Playground benefit the children with special needs but it also allows these children to play alongside their siblings, parents, and friends maybe for the first time in their life.  It also allows parents and grandparents who have a disability, the chance to safely bring their child or grandchild to the park without having to sit on the sidelines. It is the goal of Big Dreams, to build playgrounds in Tuolumne County that address the needs of these children as well as their families and friends.  These parks will be created as a place where everyone can play, have fun, enjoy the outdoors, create community, learn from each other, and be accepted.

Stop Keystone and other Pipelines from carrying tar sand oil.

Tar Sands Oil is oil mixed with sand. Sand is an abrasive. These pipelines are literally being sandblasted from the inside out. The question is not "IF" they'll leak (because the answer is an emphatic "YES" they'll leak) the question is when, where and how often they'll leak. The first pipeline in 2010 sprung 13 leaks in under 12 months. We cannot allow any pipelines to carry tar sand oil.

Telling The World about Jesus Love

Jesus birth, death and resurrection was for man's salvation that man might be saved. It's our duty to tell the world about the Love of God and His Grace and Mercy.

Better inform women before an abortion

this will be filed and sent to congress asking for the following ammendment to The Roe vs Wade law. 

1.We are asking for counseling for the woman, and an ultrasound of the unborn baby to be done at least 2 days prior to the abortion procedure. 
2.Let the woman actually understand, and see her baby before making such a life changing
decision. 
3.Present her with facts about tha babies current development, and answer any questions she may .

"Rikiya Koyama, the voice actor of the Mamoru Takamura character in the Hajime no Ippo boxing anime franchise, has revealed in his blog that a sequel to the Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger television series is being planned. Koyama was posting about the end of dialogue recording for the series, since the cast just finished work on the 26th and final episode. (The final episode, "New Challenger," aired in Japan on June 30.) At the end of his Friday blog entry, he wrote, "Of course, a sequel is also being planned!!""

I post the above as a reminder that the effective 3rd series is planned.  The petition i am starting here is a reminder to producers that fans are still waiting.  We want more, as soon as possible.  We loved the series and want to know whats to become of our beloved characters, the glories, the defeats, the growth.  

To the producers i say this, you have created something great, please dont let it die.  I have laughed, i have cried, it has been a wonderful journey so far.  My hopes, and that of other fans are now in your hands, please dont let us down, bring us more Hajime no Ippo.

Help End the Rape Epidemic in South Africa once and for all

It is estimated that a woman born in South Africa has a greater chance of being raped than learning how to read. The men responsible for these crimes are free to walk 24 out of 25 times! FREE! This lack of a justice system is the result of the following statistics:

By 2006 the official figure for rape was over 55 000 , unofficially, based on the premise put forward by the National Institute of Crime Rehabilitation that only one in twenty rapes are reported, the figure is over 494,000 a year. This means that on average approximately one thousand three hundred women can be expected to be raped A DAY!!!! in South Africa.  (can anyone justify this...)

A study by Interpol, the international police agency, has revealed that South Africa leads the world in rapes. 

A woman is raped in South Africa every 17 seconds. This does not include the number of child rape victims. It was estimated that one in every two women would be raped.

Kenya: Don't Abuse Refugees!

Kenyan police have tortured, raped, abused, and unjustly detained 1,000 or more refugees. 

Victims described police attacking individuals in the streets and in their homes, including children, and having personal belongings (including large amounts of money) stolen from them or demanded in order to be freed. Held in detention with no evidence of crimes, refugees were threatened to be charged with things such as terrorism or public order violations and called terrorists. 

Instead of opening an investigation and getting justice for victims, Kenya has been contemplating passing a refugee relocation plan that would move 55,000 refugees into awful refugee camps, taking away their rights and discriminating against them.

Please tell Kenya not to abuse refugees!
